Billy Reid (footballer born 1963)
Billy Reid (born 18 July 1963 in Glasgow) is a Scottish former footballer and is currently manager of Scottish First Division club Hamilton Academical.
Life and career
In his playing days Reid started off at Queen of the South where he was signed by Nobby Clark.[1] Reid was later remembered by team mate Tommy Bryce as one of the best players at the club.[2] Reid then played for Clyde, Hamilton Academical and Stirling Albion. He has also managed Clyde.
Reid won the PFA Scotland Manager of the Year in 2008 after leading Hamilton into the Scottish Premier League.[3]
His son, Billy Jnr, was also a footballer, who played for Clyde. His other son, Gary, went to Lenzie Academy.
